Visit Perouges Medieval Town & Sparkling Wine Tasting in Beaujolais
At 9:00 AM, hop aboard your small-group tour minibus from Place Bellecour in Lyon and head to the medieval town of Pérouges, just a 40-minute drive away.
Step back in time as you explore this beautifully preserved town, a filming location for movies like The Three Musketeers. Wander along its charming cobblestone streets with your guide, discovering historic monuments and centuries-old houses dating from the 13th to 16th centuries.
Immerse yourself in Pérouges’ rich history and experience the local culture. On the main square, pause for a coffee or a slice of galette, the town’s famous specialty.
Next, journey through the scenic La Dombes region en route to the Beaujolais wine country.
At 11:30 AM, make your first stop at a Beaujolais winery to taste the region’s sparkling wines. With your guide, learn the secrets of their production before enjoying a tasting of three or four sparkling wines, including the famous Crémant de Bourgogne.

In the early afternoon, explore the charming village of Oingt, a beautifully preserved medieval town built from warm ochre-colored stone. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of rolling vineyards and wander through its quaint pedestrian streets, each with its own historic name.
Next, visit a family-run winery to learn about the rich history, terroir, and traditions of Beaujolais, meeting the winemaker in person.
Discover the art of vine cultivation and the unique semi-carbonic fermentation process that gives Beaujolais wines their distinctive character.
Finally, enjoy a guided tasting of five exceptional Beaujolais wines, including a white Chardonnay, a rosé, and three red Gamay wines. Then, relax on the journey back to Lyon.
