Southern Burgundy Wine Tour: Vineyards & Pouilly-Fuissé Tasting
At 9:00 am, your comfortable 8-seater minibus departs from Place Bellecour in Lyon for the South of Burgundy.
After a 40-minute drive north of Lyon, follow the magnificent Burgundy wine route and explore the end of the Beaujolais region, with its breathtaking landscapes and granite terroirs.
Continue through the Mâcon vineyards, birthplace of the Chardonnay grape, passing several charming villages built in ocher stone, including Saint-Véran, Leynes, Fuissé, and more.
At 10:45 am, visit a family-run wine estate. Discover its history, learn about wine-making, and explore the art of barrel aging.
Then, enjoy a tasting of several white and red wines, including the renowned Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Experience the finesse, freshness, and perfect balance of these wines, with their delicate oaky finish.
Continue your wine tour with a stop at the iconic Roche de Solutré (493 m). Admire this natural “Sphinx,” a true symbol of Southern Burgundy, before heading to Cluny for lunch.

In the early afternoon, enjoy a stroll through the charming streets of Cluny, a town world-famous for its historic abbey.
Accompanied by your guide, discover the former site of the Abbey of Cluny, learn about its history, and understand how the town profoundly influenced Burgundian viticulture, Burgundy wines, and shaped the region’s terroir identity over the centuries.
Then continue along the Burgundy South Wine Route to a charming wine château, producing wines made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.
With your guide, visit the vaulted cellar and the winemaking facilities, followed by a tasting of 6 wines in a friendly and authentic atmosphere.
Take time to savor these Burgundy wines, renowned for their fruity aromas, aromatic complexity, and long finish on the palate.
Return to Lyon in the late afternoon, with an expected arrival around 5:30 PM.
