Lyon Panoramic tour in coach

The group is picked up directly from their hotel by a comfortable coach and a friendly tourist guide.

The tour begins with a panoramic view of Lyon from the Esplanade de Fourvière and a visit to the splendid Basilica of the same name dating from 1872.

Participants then discover the majestic ancient Roman Theater and the Odeon, more than 2000 years old.

Then the coach enters the Presqu'ile, this thin strip of land located between Saône and Rhône rivers. The group successively discovers Bellecour Square, the Confluence district then drive north towards Croix Rousse hill.

On the way, they learn about the history of silk in Lyon before stopping to admire the impressive Canut painted Wall.

The visit ends with Old Lyon, a Renaissance-style district classified as a UNESCO heritage site.

During a walking tour of around one hour, the group walks along the pedestrian streets, admires the main monuments including St Jean Cathedral and the Pink Tower of course, and takes several traboules.

A free time can be arranged.

At the end of the visit to Old Lyon, participants board the coach and are dropped off at a location of their choice.

The coach and guide are available to the group all day.

Many possibilities for additional visits are then offered such as a visit the Maison des Canuts Silk House, The Halles Paul Bocuse Food Market, etc. and even excursions outside of Lyon, like the medieval city of Pérouges or the Beaujolais wine region.
