Discover the hidden beauty of Drôme Provençale and enjoy a fascinating sensory exploration journey. In summer, drive through glorious fields of lavender and sunflowers while in winter, hunt the "Black diamond" and experience the special atmosphere of a truffles market. Sight, smell & savour: you are in Provence!
Tour highlights:
* At 7:30 am, the Kanpai's minibus will pick you up at your Lyon Hotel. Comfortable 8-seater minibus Volkswagen Caravelle.
* In the morning, we will start the journey with the visit of Suze-la-Rousse's magnificient medieval castle. Then, you will meet a truffle seeker and his trained dog and go to hunt the "black diamond" (hunt only between november & march). You will discover many secrets about truffles, learn about their characteristics, their ideal environment and how to recognize their quality.
* At lunch, in winter you will experience the special atmosphere of a truffle market (only on saturdays) and enjoy a special truffle menu. In summer, you will savor a typical Provençal meal in a beautiful village. Lunch is not included.
* In the afternoon, we will drive along a picturesque road through lavender fields and tiny Drôme Provençale villages and then meet a lavender producer. You will learn how to cultivate and harvest this aromatic plant which enters in many perfumes, soaps and beauty care products. Finally, we will end the journey with a stop at Grignan for a view of the majestic Château surrounded by lavender fields and a free time visit of this this enchanting village.
* Return to Lyon at around 7:00 pm and drop off at your hotel.

La Lavande
Le genre Lavandula compte une 30aine d'espèces dont 3 poussent spontanément en France. Au printemps, les champs de lavande se colorent de vert tendre puis en juin et juillet de mille nuances mauves et bleues. On cultive la lavande pour ses huiles essentielles et ses fleurs qui font de merveilleux bouquets. Bien entretenu, une plantation de lavande vie environ 10 ans.
La Truffe noir du Tricastin
Le Tricastin est le haut lieu de la production française de la fameuse truffe noire (60% de la production nationale). Ce champignon a trouvé dans cette région les conditions toutes particulières pour naître et se développer naturellement. Autrefois, elle était consommée intensément, aujourd'hui, devenue rare, elle constitue un mets raffiné sur les meilleures tables.
