La Dombes
30 miles away from Lyon, in the "La Dombes" region, stands Perouges listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Come and visit this model of medieval architecture and discover a region where water, earth and wild life join together to create marvellous landscapes ...
Tour highlights:
* At 9:30 am, the Kanpai's minibus will pick you up at your Lyon hotel. Comfortable 8-seater minibus Volkswagen Caravelle.
* In the morning, you will visit Perouges, the background town of the 3 Musketeers movie with its narrow winding cobbled streets and ancient houses from the XV and XVI centuries. Then our guide will let you stroll through the little craft and souvenir shops (free time) before tasting some ‘Galette' on a nice terrace.
* At lunch, you can enjoy a gastronomic menu at the famous "Auberge Ostellerie" in Perouges or eat in a nice "La Dombes" local restaurant serving regional specialities: Bresse chicken, frog legs, fishs, etc. (Lunch is not included).
* In the afternoon, you will discover the "La Dombes" marshes, a magical place with about 1000 small lakes and a rich wild life and visit the Bird Sanctuary Park at Villars-les-Dombes.
* Return to Lyon at around 6:00 pm and drop off at your hotel.

Pérouges
Située à une trentaine de kilomètres au Nord Est de Lyon, cette ancienne cité de tisserands et d'artisans garde les traces d'un riche passé médiéval. Ses rues étroites et tortueuses aux galets inégaux sont bordées de vieilles demeures du XVe et XVIe, donnant à l'ensemble cet aspect si pittoresque. La visite de Pérouges ne peut se terminer sans une dégustation de sa fameuse galette sucrée.
Le Pays aux 1000 étangs
La Dombes, région façonné par l'homme depuis le XVIIe siècle pour la production de poissons est devenue le royaume des oiseaux. Ils y ont trouvé une terre bénie pour se nourrir, s'abriter et se reproduire. Le Parc aux Oiseaux de Villars les Dombes est l'un des parcs ornithologiques les plus riches d'Europe regroupant plus de 400 espèces et 2000 individus. Ouvert de Mars à Novembre.
