4 - The Gourmet's
Escapade
Experience a full gourmet immersion into the tasty flavours of the Beaujolais region. Visit small producers still faithful to regional tastes and traditions and sample their delicious products. Along this journey, while driving through charming villages and beautiful scenery you will meet a baker, a cheese producer, a wine-maker and a ‘Maître Chocolatier'.
Tour highlights:
* At 8:30 am , the Kanpai's minibus will pick you up at your Lyon Hotel. Comfortable 8-seater minibus Volkswagen Caravelle.
* In the morning, you will stop at a traditionnal boulangerie and see to make and bake beautiful baguette. Then, you will visit an hidden artisanal fromagerie and follow the flow of the milk from goats to the cheese making before sampling delectable "terroir" cheeses.
At 11:45 am, a wine-maker welcomes you in his cellar. First, you will learn all about the beaujolais-making process and then taste several of his wines at apéritif time!

At lunch, you will enjoy a delightful Beaujolais picnic among the vineyards.
* In the afternoon, you will visit Oingt, one of the most beautifull villages in France and then meet our Maître Chocolatier. You will visit his workshop. learn how the cocoa is turned into finest chocolate and finally delight your palates with some of his delicious creations.
* Return to Lyon at around 5:30 pm and drop off at your hotel.

Le chocolat
Le cacaoyer pousse à l'état sauvage dans la région tropicale de l'Amérique du sud depuis 4000 ans av-J.C. !
Les indiens connaissaient les vertus thérapeutiques de sa fève et consommaient le cacao sous forme liquide. Aujourd'hui,
la fève de cacao parcourt un long chemin et doit être soumise à une série de manipulations complexes et délicates pour être transformée en chocolat.
Roi des aliments, il est source de plaisir et de volupté.
Le pain
Sa recette est des plus simple : un mélange de farine, d'eau, de levure et de sel. Pourtant, faire du bon pain, n'est pas tâche facile ! Il faut du temps et du savoir-faire, un héritage de gestes que se transmettent les artisans boulangers au fil des générations. Symbole de la vie et de la fertilité de la terre, le pain Français nous est envié par le monde entier.
