Clochemerle
"Clochemerle" is a 1934 French Satirical novel by Gabriel Chevallier inspired by Vaux-en-Beaujolais Village. In the novel, this poor sleepy town gets involved in the midst of controversy, scandal and political intrigue for the rather unlikely reason of the erection of a public urinal in the town square! In 1972, this novel was adapted by the BBC and became one of the funniest comedies ever in the television history. |
